Spring Cleaning Your Makeup Bag

โ €โ €โ €
This week we are going to cover make-up products. When was the last time you changed out your mascara tube? How about that lipstick or lipgloss? Don't remember? ๐Ÿค” You may be keeping your products too long this can lead to possible irritations due to bacteria.

Did you know that there is a little icon on the back of most products that looks like a little open container? Inside of that icon, you'll see a number like 12M this means how long that product is good once opened. Typically, with things like lipsticks, the icon is going to be on the box. โ €โ €

Here are some standard rules of thumbs: โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €

๐Ÿ’„: Should be replaced about a year after you've opened itโ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €

๐Ÿ’๐Ÿป: Foundations and primers - 2 yearsโ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €

๐Ÿ’๐Ÿป: Powders and Blushes - 2 years โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €

Lastly, always replace your makeup when you are exposed to illness or pink eye. And make a weekly habit of washing your makeup brushes. Your makeup shelf life goes down when you're using dirty brushes continuously introducing bacteria.โ €
