Spring Cleaning Your Makeup Bag

⠀⠀⠀
This week we are going to cover make-up products. When was the last time you changed out your mascara tube? How about that lipstick or lipgloss? Don't remember? 🤔 You may be keeping your products too long this can lead to possible irritations due to bacteria.

Did you know that there is a little icon on the back of most products that looks like a little open container? Inside of that icon, you'll see a number like 12M this means how long that product is good once opened. Typically, with things like lipsticks, the icon is going to be on the box. ⠀⠀

Here are some standard rules of thumbs: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

💄: Should be replaced about a year after you've opened it⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

💁🏻: Foundations and primers - 2 years⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

💁🏻: Powders and Blushes - 2 years ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

💁🏻: Mascara & liquid liners - 3 months⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Lastly, always replace your makeup when you are exposed to illness or pink eye. And make a weekly habit of washing your makeup brushes. Your makeup shelf life goes down when you're using dirty brushes continuously introducing bacteria.⠀
