Trial Spray Tans

We recommend scheduling a trial spray tan before any special event, but even more so on a big wedding day. A trial spray tan allows us to tweak anything you may desire for your overall outcome. For example, if you have never had a spray tan, you may opt for a lighter glow vs. a sun-kissed from 2 weeks on the beach look. We at Elevate Esthetics believe in doing a full consultation before we begin your CUSTOM spray tan.

We recommend that your trial tan is within two weeks apart (14 days) before your actual wedding date. If you’re having a makeup trial, it’s best to get your spray tan a couple of days prior so your makeup artist can plan accordingly.

You’ll want to pay attention to how your spray tan “wears.” Where and how does it fade? Did you like the color? Do you want to go lighter or darker?

Wedding Day Tan

For your wedding day spray tan for best results, we recommend two to three days before your big day.

We know prepping for your wedding day requires lots of beauty appointments; we highly suggest getting your facial, pedicure, manicure, massage, lashes, and waxing prior to your tan session. Waxing appointments should be 1-2 days beforehand.

If you’re getting married in the warmer months, be mindful of wearing anything that may create natural tan lines. Wear plenty of sunscreen to prevent sunburns when outdoors because the last thing you want is a sunburn before your big day. A sunburn is the worst thing you can have before your spray tan. A spray tan on a sunburn will look worse if it peels, even slightly. The tan will not look “nice” for more than a short time due to the burned skin peeling and will fade much faster than normal.

Exfoliate from head to toe 24 hours beforehand; we recommend using an exfoliating mitt for best results. Sugar scrubs are good, but we recommend finding a brand without any oils, as they can leave a film on the skin.

Day of Your Spray Tan Session

Arrive at your appointment with clean skin, free of all makeup, lotions, toners, perfumes, and deodorants. Shave prior to your appointment (the day BEFORE is ideal, but a minimum of 8hrs prior is preferred). Wear loose dark clothing. No tight yoga pants, socks, or sports bras. After your spray tan session, you’ll want to take it easy until your first shower. We recommend a rapid spray tan for our Summer brides; this allows you to shower sooner, reducing the risk of messing up your beautiful glow!
